Payments

Rinsely takes no fee on your payments.

Your subscription is the only money Rinsely collects. Take cards on Rinsely Payments, or keep your Square setup with Bring Your Own Hardware. You choose at setup and can switch later.

Bring Your Own Hardware

Keep the Square account and readers you already own. Connect once, and payments land in Rinsely against the job.

  • Keyed cards from the dashboard
  • Square Reader and Stand in the upcoming iPad and iPhone app
  • Switch to Rinsely Payments any time

The math

What a $284 charge pays out.

On Rinsely Payments the processing fee is Stripe's standard rate, passed through at cost. It comes out before payout. Rinsely adds nothing on top.

Example for illustration. Keyed cards are 2.9% + 30¢. On Bring Your Own Hardware, Square's rate for your account applies.

Either way

Everything else works the same.

  • Tips at 15, 20 or 25%, a custom amount, or no tip.
  • Cash, recorded against the job.
  • Full and partial refunds, always sent back through the provider that took the payment.
  • Receipts by text or email.
  • A card payment only shows as paid after the processor confirms it to Rinsely.
  • Every payment lands in Money, ready for export and your tax report.

Switching

Change providers without a day off cards.

Switch from Settings → Payments. Until the new provider finishes connecting, you keep taking cards on the current one. If you stop halfway, nothing changes.

  • Past payments keep the provider they were taken on, so reports stay accurate.
  • Refunds follow the original payment, not your current setting.
  • Readers are registered per shop, for whichever provider you use.

FAQ

Payment questions.

Does Rinsely take a cut of my card payments?

No. Rinsely takes no fee on any payment. On Rinsely Payments you pay Stripe's standard processing rate, passed through at cost: 2.7% + 5¢ in person, 2.9% + 30¢ keyed. On Bring Your Own Hardware, Square bills you at your plan's rate, same as today. Your subscription is the only thing Rinsely charges.

I already have a Square reader. Do I have to replace it?

No. Choose Bring Your Own Hardware, connect your Square account, and keep using your Square Reader, Stand or Terminal. Payments land in Rinsely against the job.

Can I switch payment providers later?

Yes, from Settings → Payments. The shop keeps taking cards on the current provider until the new one finishes connecting, so you never have a day without cards. Past payments keep their original provider, so refunds and reports stay right.

Can customers pay a deposit when they book?

Not yet. Online bookings come in as requests, and you take payment at the job: card reader, keyed card or cash. We'll say so here when deposits ship.
