Draft — needs legal review.
This text is a working draft and is not yet in effect. It will be replaced after review by counsel.
This policy explains what information [Rinsely legal entity — TBD] (“Rinsely”) handles when you visit getrinsely.com, use the Rinsely dashboard and apps, or book with a shop through a Rinsely booking site.
Who this covers
- Shops: detailing businesses that subscribe to Rinsely, and their owners and staff.
- Shop customers: people who book with, or are served by, a shop that uses Rinsely.
- Visitors: anyone browsing this website.
For shop customers, the shop decides what to collect and how to use it. Rinsely processes that information on the shop's behalf. Questions about a booking should go to the shop first.
What we collect
From shops and their staff
- Account details: name, email, password (stored hashed), role.
- Business details: shop name, address, phone, hours, time zone, services and prices, tax settings.
- Payment setup: which payment provider the shop uses and the account identifiers needed to connect it. Square access tokens are stored encrypted.
Entered by shops or by customers when booking
- Customer name, phone, email and, for mobile work, a service address.
- Vehicle details: year, make, model, color, size, plate and, if a shop enters it, the VIN.
- Job records: services, times, notes, checklists, photos of the vehicle, and protection (coating or film) details.
- Payment records: amounts, tips, tax, refunds and the last details the processor returns. Rinsely does not store full card numbers.
- Messages sent to customers, and opt-out status.
From visitors
- Standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) kept by our hosting provider.
- If we turn on analytics, we will name the tool here and use one that does not set tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To run the service: scheduling, booking, job records, payments, reports and customer messages.
- To send texts and emails the shop has set up, such as confirmations, reminders, photo reveals, review requests and receipts.
- To keep the service secure, fix problems and support shops.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use shop customers' information to market to them ourselves.
Service providers
We share information only with providers that help us run Rinsely, under contracts that limit their use of it:
- Hosting and database: Vercel and Supabase.
- Card payments: Stripe (Rinsely Payments) or Square (Bring Your Own Hardware), depending on the shop's choice.
- Text messages: Twilio. Email: Resend.
Text messages
Customers can reply STOP to any Rinsely text to stop messages from that shop. Messages are not sent during the shop's quiet hours. Message and data rates may apply.
Retention and deletion
We keep shop data for as long as the shop's account is active, and as needed afterward to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. Shops can delete clients and vehicles from the dashboard. To ask about deleting your information, contact us below.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information. Shop customers should contact the shop; we will help the shop respond. Anyone can contact us directly.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access inside a shop is limited by role, and each shop's data is isolated from every other shop's at the database level.
Children
Rinsely is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
We will post changes here and update the date above. Material changes will be emailed to shop owners.
